South Korea’s political tension deepened on the 29th of April, 2025, as prosecutors stormed the private home of ousted President Yoon Suk Yeol.
Yoon, who was ousted on the 4th of April 2025, over his attempt to declare martial law late last year, now faces fresh scrutiny.
Investigators probing an influence-peddling case tied to religious figures reportedly searched for documents and materials linking them to Yoon and his wife, according to Yonhap News Agency.
Whether they gained access to the home remained unclear, the agency noted.

By press time, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office overseeing the case had not issued any official statement.
Yoon had earlier pushed back against a raid on the presidential residence after his 14th of December, 2024 impeachment, citing security and classified documents.
He left the official residence and settled into his private home on the 11th of April, 2025.
