Ogun State’s music maverick, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, is back in the headlines—this time, not for his viral street anthems, but for a courtroom conviction that’s stirring a storm online.
The fast-rising artist was found guilty on three counts, including assaulting a police officer and obstructing justice. The incident in question dates back to March 2023, when Portable reportedly lashed out at Inspector Hammed Moshood at the bustling Odogwu Bar in Oke-Osa, Ilogbo. Witnesses say the altercation left the officer with a visibly injured nose.
Initially evading arrest, the singer breached bail conditions and was eventually apprehended.
The Magistrate Court in Ifo, Ogun State, handed down the verdict, bringing an end to months of speculation and legal wrangling.

While fans buzz with divided opinions and the internet lights up with commentary, Portable’s management remains notably silent.
The singer, no stranger to controversy, had only recently secured a ₦2 million bail in a separate legal dispute with the Ogun State government.
Adding to his legal woes, Portable is also embroiled in a high-profile defamation case involving legendary Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa.
As his legal troubles deepen, one thing is clear: the self-styled “Wahala Musician” is living up to his nickname—on and off the mic.
