Police in Lagos have arrested and detained Instagram celebrity and Executive Director, Cubana Group, Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest.
It was gathered that the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit in Lagos State arrested Okechukwu, known for his lavish lifestyle, after he arrived at the Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, at about 10am.
It was further learnt that the Instagram celebrity was earlier invited by the police for alleged misuse of escorts and weapons.
His arrest comes a month after another Instagram celebrity and Chairman, Five Star Group, Emeka Okonkwo aka E-Money, was arrested and detained for similar offence.
The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, who was not comfortable with the abuse of police escorts, was said to have ordered that Okechukwu be questioned, among other issues, about his unexplained wealth and extravagant lifestyle.
The celebrity is fond of posting pictures of himself in private jets and exotic cars to impress his 1.6 million followers on Instagram.
Okechukwu posted a video of himself on January 6, 2020, throwing freshly minted bundles of naira notes to a huge crowd, an offence punishable with six months’ imprisonment or a fine of N50,000 or both.
