Ondo deputy gov disowns SDP campaign posters

…says ‘we know those circulating this fake news’

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, says he has nothing to do with the posters circulating in the state with his photograph, campaigning for governorship on the platform of the Social Democratic Party.

Ajayi, whose posters in SDP had flooded the social media lately, dissociated himself from such campaigns.

The Ondo deputy governor said he remained loyal to the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party he recently defected to and did not have any link with any other party.

The deputy governor, through his media aide, Allen Sowore, said the circulating SDP posters were the handiwork of mischief makers, who had tried unsuccessfully to pitch him against the PDP leadership.

He said, “The purveyor of this fake news are well known to the public. We would not have responded to this fake and unsubstantiated story if not for unsuspecting members of the public.

“There was no time the deputy governor addressed the press after his official declaration for the PDP on Monday 22nd June, 2020.”

Ajayi, therefore, urged the public to disregard the posters, saying, “It is understandable that it will take a very long time for the All Progressives Congress to recover from the whammy which the defection has caused.”
