Nollywood’s actor and comedian, Okey Bakassi, has stepped into a new chapter. This time, not on screen but in royal robes.
In a video he posted on the 6th of May, 2025, Okey Bakassi was officially presented as the traditional ruler of Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise by his kinsmen.
Now bearing the title ‘His Royal Highness Eze Okechukwu Onyegbule, the Okwe II of Umuihuocha Obohia’. The coronation turned into a vibrant showcase of Igbo heritage.

He shared clips from the colourful ceremony on Instagram, writing: “Special presentation as king (Eze) of Umuihuocha community”.
This honour comes just two weeks after he made his appointment public.
