No Hiding Place: Natasha Set to Present Sexual Assault Proof Against Akpabio

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central Senatorial District has vowed to present evidence of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the appropriate time and platform.

“At the right time and at the right space, I will present the evidence that I have,” Akpoti-Uduaghan declared during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.

The shocking allegation marks a new chapter in the growing tension within the National Assembly, as the female lawmaker positions herself to challenge one of the most powerful figures in Nigerian politics.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, known for her outspoken nature, did not elaborate further on the specifics of the alleged harassment but assured the public that she would substantiate her claims when necessary.

Her comments have sparked intense debate across political and civil society circles, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, Akpoti-Uduaghan also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for rejecting a petition seeking her recall from the Senate. The petition, which had been a subject of controversy, was dismissed by INEC on April 3, 2025.

“The electoral umpire should have thrown out the petition long before now, but it’s good that they eventually did the right thing,” she said.

The senator’s political journey has been marked by fierce battles, from her election victory to her ongoing advocacy on governance and human rights. Her latest revelations add to the political drama unfolding within the Nigerian Senate.

As the nation awaits further developments, the accusations against Senate President Akpabio raise serious questions about accountability and the treatment of women in Nigeria’s political landscape.
