Nigeria Drawn in Group D for 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have been drawn in Group D for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The draw, which was held on Wednesday, placed Nigeria alongside football powerhouses France and Canada, as well as debutants Samoa. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on 19 October.

This marks another opportunity for the Flamingos to showcase their growing dominance at the youth level following their historic third-place finish at the 2022 edition in India.

Nigeria’s group-stage matches are expected to be tightly contested, especially against France and Canada, who both have a strong pedigree in women’s football.

However, the Flamingos, under the guidance of head coach Bankole Olowookere, will be looking to build on their past achievements and make a bold statement on the global stage.

Fans across the country will be hopeful that this talented crop of young Nigerian stars can go all the way and bring home the trophy.
