The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Afam Osigwe, renowned activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju, alongside other prominent legal professionals, have gathered at the Federal High Court in Abuja today, 29th of January, 2025 where the spotlight is on the case of Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore.
Reports reveal that the Nigerian Police Force is set to arraign Sowore for accusing the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, of being the ‘illegal IGP.’
Recall that Sowore was summoned by the Police for questioning at the Nigerian Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) office at Guzape Junction, Abuja, on the 27th of January.
During his interrogation, he was instructed to produce a level 16 federal civil servant and his international passport as conditions for his bail.
Rejecting these terms, Sowore chose to remain in police custody, awaiting his court appearance.
Today, 29th of January, he is expected to face Justice Liman at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where the next chapter of this high-profile case will unfold.
