Four men drug, gang-rape 13-yr-old girl in Kaduna

. State govt probes incident

Kaduna State Government has launched an investigation into the alleged gang-raping of a 13-year-old girl in Kaduna by four men.

The state’s Ministry of Human Services and Social Development is spearheading the probe into the incident.

First News gathered that the teenage girl was first drugged before the four men allegedly gang-raped her.

It was learnt that they later dumped her underneath a parked vehicle near her house.

The ministry said that the victim was taken by the suspects on a motorcycle that was “ridden by an unsuspecting biker and dumped underneath a parked car close to her house.”

According to the Ministry’s twitter handle on Thursday, after hours of frantic search, the victim was found by a relative and immediately taken to the hospital.

It, however, disclosed that the four suspects and an accomplice had since been arrested and the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.

“After investigation, the suspects will be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction,” the ministry said.

The ministry expressed regret that while the ongoing conversation “on #SayNoToRapists continues, the monstrous practitioners have not shown signs of slowing down.”

Lately, there has been an upsurge in rape cases across the country.

Only recently, a 100 level student of the University of Benin, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, was raped and killed in a church, while another teenager, Barakat, was killed in Ibadan, Oyo State, after resisting her assailants from raping her.
