NAF Airstrike Crushes Terrorists in Borno, Destroys Gun Trucks

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dealt a heavy blow to insurgent forces operating in Borno State, neutralising multiple terrorists and destroying their equipment in a precision airstrike.

In a statement released on Thursday, Air Commodore Edward Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, confirmed that the operation took place in the early hours of June 5 under the ongoing military campaign, Operation Hadin Kai.

According to Ejodame, the airstrike followed credible intelligence that revealed the movement of insurgents attempting to flee Buratai with four gun trucks.

NAF aircraft were swiftly deployed and successfully tracked the convoy.

Two of the vehicles, reportedly laden with supplies, were destroyed in the strike, while several insurgents were killed.

“The Nigerian Air Force, acting on reliable intelligence, engaged a convoy of terrorists with devastating accuracy, neutralising a number of the fighters and disabling their mobility,” the statement read.

The Air Force further appealed to the public for continued support in the fight against terrorism by sharing timely and useful information with security agencies.

Ejodame noted that more details from the operation would be made available in due course.

This latest offensive underscores the renewed military effort to stamp out remnants of insurgent groups still active in the Northeast.
