A 34-year-old mother of 13, Hauwa’u Sulaiman, has delivered a set of quadruplets in Kaduna State.
Sulaiman, who said she’s now a proud mother of 17 children, gave birth to the quadruplets at the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital, Zaria, Kaduna State.
She and her babies were later transferred to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital for better medical attention.
But the male among the four babies died before they could get to ABUTH, Sulaiman said.
She said the remaining three of the set of quadruplets were placed under observation at the pediatrics care unit of the hospital while she has been receiving medical care at the maternity ward.
“I am very healthy and strong but the medical experts advised that I need to be monitored very well before they can discharge me,’’ Sulaiman said.
Her husband, Sulaiman Mohammed, a driver, disclosed that his wife had in the past given birth to two sets of triplets; two sets of twins and three single babies at different times before the quadruplets.
He expressed gratitude to God for being blessed with the new babies.
Leading Consultant, ABUTH Pediatrics Unit, Isa Abdulkadir, certified the babies as healthy and in good condition.
