Lagos Arrests 44 Suspects in Midnight raid

Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce have arrested 44 suspects during a clean-up enforcement operation in Lagos Island.

The arrested suspects include 43 males and one female.

The Lagos State Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a post shared on his X handle on Thursday.

Wahab’s post read, “In continuation of the agency’s clean up enforcement operation to rid the State of criminal elements, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce team set out at about 2a.m during the wee hours on Thursday, 1st May, 2025 and embarked on its clean up enforcement operation on Lagos Island.

“The areas visited during the operation include: Falomo Bridge, Oyin Jolayemi, Eko Hotel roundabout, Ligali Ayorinde, Oniru Beach and 1004 areas where the presence of some undesirable elements was noticed.

“During the raid exercise, a total number of 43 male and 1 female suspects were arrested, and sanity was restored in all the areas.

“All the Suspects will be charged in court accordingly.”
