Kogi robbery: Gov Bello releases N10m for victims’ burial

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has released the sum of N10million for the burial of the victims of last week’s armed robbery attack in Yagba East Local Government Area of the state.

State Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, disclosed this on Monday via Twitter.

“Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has released the sum of 10 million naira to support the burial rites of the slain victims of the unfortunate Isanlu robbery attack which claimed about 10 lives,” Onoja tweeted.

Seven security personnel at the Isanlu Police Division and another policeman on duty at the Isanlu branch of First Bank of Nigeria Limited as well as some passers-by, were killed by the robbers.

Already, the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, has ordered a manhunt for the criminals.

“The IGP has deployed a team of crack detectives from the Intelligence Response Team, the Special Tactical Squad, and Federal-SARS to Kogi State to ensure that the criminals are apprehended and brought to book,” the police said in a statement.
