The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA) has firmly rejected claims that men and women shared the same hotel during the 2025 Hajj in Makkah.
Reacting to a report published by Hajj Reporters, the agency described the story as a “deliberate attempt to mislead the generality of the public and to damage the reputation of the agency.”
KSPWA expressed surprise at the claims, especially since “it has a functional media team for the 2025 Hajj, and we are surprised that the reporters did not reach the KSPWA Public Relations Officer for clarifications.”

The agency emphasized its consistent practice of separate lodging, adding that “Kaduna State was the first State in Nigeria to establish and maintain separate lodging for male and female pilgrims in Makkah because of our adherence to religious and moral values.”
It acknowledged that concerns had been raised early on by some female pilgrims and their families, but attributed those complaints to “misunderstanding.”
To ensure convenience while upholding gender separation, the agency explained that it houses pilgrims “in different hotels and different floors based on their gender for accommodation flexibility.”
