Police in Lagos have arrested 179 persons for violating interstate travel restrictions.
The violators were arrested on Sunday and Monday for non-essential inter-state travelling across various interstate checkpoints and motor parks in the state.
Among those arrested are 43 commercial bus drivers, who conveyed the arrested passengers to Abuja, Kogi, Abia, and more.
It was learnt that 43 vehicles were impounded.
The suspects were arraigned before the Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile) Court and were sentenced accordingly.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Hakeem Odumosu, warned commercial vehicle operators and motor parks against violating interstate movement restriction orders.
Passengers are also warned against non-essential interstate travel.
