Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has unveiled his vision of constructing 1,000 churches before his transition to eternity — a mission he described as his spiritual legacy and a personal covenant with God.
Speaking to his congregation, the revered cleric challenged believers to demonstrate genuine commitment to the growth of the church and warned against complacency in matters of faith.
Oyedepo expressed disappointment at church members who, despite owning vehicles, fail to use them for church services on Sundays, often blaming fuel prices.
“Some may even have buses that are doing nothing on Sunday, but they won’t bring them out. Because, ah, 2,000 Naira per half liter,” he said. “If it’s in your heart, go put it in your heart.”

He also shared a deeply personal story of how he made a vow to God long before he had any financial standing, committing himself to the building of churches.
“Before I had the first bank account, I said, ‘Jesus, if you ever bless me, I want to be part of building new churches.’”
According to Oyedepo, the vision to build 1,000 churches is not merely an ambition, but a divine assignment. “I told Jesus, I don’t want to come to heaven without a thousand churches built in your name,” he declared.
The fiery preacher concluded by urging his followers to reflect the identity of their spiritual family through their actions, stating, “Everybody’s a reflection of where he belongs. It’s time you start reflecting on what happens here.”
