Ghana apologises to Nigeria over High Commission’s building demolition

…arrests some suspects

Ghanaian Government has tendered an apology to Nigeria over the demolition of a building on the premises of the Nigerian High Commission in Accra, Ghana.

The country’s government has also arrested some suspected persons over the matter.

Nigerian Presidency said on Tuesday that President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana personally tendered his country’s “sincere apology” to Nigeria during a telephone conversation with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, in a statement on Tuesday night, said the Ghanaian President told President Buhari on the phone that he had directed a full investigation into the incident.

“Earlier in the day, it further emerged that some suspects had been arrested, and will be arraigned in court,” the statement said.
