Fresh protest rocks Katsina over killings

Scores of Northern youths in Katsina State, on Tuesday, stormed the streets to protest the renewed violence and insecurity in the state.

The youths, under the aegis of Coalition Northern Youth Groups, expressed annoyance over renewed attacks by bandits in the state and in Northern Nigeria.

The protesters urged both the state government and the Federal Government to tackle and address security in the state.

The protesting youths marched with placards from the roundabout adjacent the Muhammed Dikko Central Mosque, through Nagogo Road, Kofar Durbi, and GRA Roundabout before ending it within the premises of the Government House.

They chanted various songs calling on governments to take decisive action against the threats posed by bandits in the state to the lives of the people.

Many of them also displayed placards with various inscriptions such as, “End Banditry in Katsina,” “We need peace; Stop the killing in Northern Nigeria,” “Enough is Enough,” and “Buhari/Masari resign if you cannot protect us.’’
