At least five people have been killed in two separate attacks by suspected terrorists within 24 hours in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, local sources said on Thursday.
Two Fulani residents were reportedly killed around 8 p.m. Wednesday in a hamlet near Karonzi village, prompting residents to flee to neighboring communities for safety.
In a second incident on Thursday at about 4 p.m., twelve armed men allegedly emerged from the bush and ambushed a motorcycle carrying three passengers in another village within the same LGA.
All three occupants were shot and killed on the spot, a local resident told Channels Television via phone.

The attacks have triggered widespread fear across the region, with many villagers reportedly staying indoors amid growing concerns over insecurity and possible abductions.
Efforts to reach the Kwara State Police Command for comments were unsuccessful, as calls to the Public Relations Officer went unanswered at the time of reporting.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
