…as police says ‘we’re still searching for him’
Abductors of the nonagenarian father of the former Plateau State governor, Joshua Dariye, have demanded for N100million ransom.
This is just as the police in Plateau State said on Tuesday that they had not given up on the search to set free the former governor’s father from his abductors.
First News gathered that Pa Defwan Dariye’s abductors have contacted the family to demand the ransom to set free the 90-year-old man.
Last Thursday, Pa Dariye was abducted by gunmen, who attacked his residence in Mushere Community, Bokkos Local Government Area of the state and taken away to a yet to be ascertained location.
Family sources also said that the former governor, who is serving a jail term for corruption, was not happy about the kidnap of his father for the second time.
Speaking on Pa Dariye’s abduction, Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ubah Ogaba, said, “No, We have not seen him. But our men and officers who were deployed immediately after his abduction are still searching for him.”
