The Iya Sunnah of Egbaland, Alhaja (Dr.) Yemi Kolapo-Sowunmi, has called on Muslims in Ogun State to embrace unity with Christians and people of other faiths in order to promote peaceful coexistence across the country.
Kolapo-Sowunmi made the call on Friday while addressing Muslim faithful at the Lantoro Praying Ground in Abeokuta during this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
She urged Muslims not to forget the core lessons of the festival, especially the spirit of sacrifice, love, and unity, which she said are critical to national peace and harmony.

“I want to admonish everyone to continue to live by the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir, and to always preach unity,” she said. “We must all promote peaceful coexistence in Nigeria, whether we are Muslims or Christians. I wish everyone a happy Eid Mubarak.”
Kolapo-Sowunmi’s message comes amid growing calls for religious tolerance and national unity across the country.
