Edo 2020: Disaster awaits APC, ex-deputy auditor warns Buhari, Tinubu
…says ‘don’t allow Oshiomhole destroy party,’ seeks emergency NEC meeting
Pioneer Deputy National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress, Captain Muhammad Jibrin, on Sunday, urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to save the ruling party from the “avoidable disaster” awaiting it in Edo State.
Jibrin, who stated this in a statement in Abuja, also restated calls for an emergency National Executive Committee meeting to thrash out constitutional breaches in the administration of the party.
He warned that the impending logjam over the Edo APC Governorship primary slated for June 22 could only be averted if both Buhari and Tinubu and the APC National Executive Committee took urgent steps, stressing that both of them should demonstrate leadership by intervening to save the party in Edo State.
Jibrin stated that the party should not be left the ways it’s currently being run by its National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The ex-deputy national auditor stressed that “APC was at the risk of losing its core if it has not lost it already. The APC is now at the crossroads.
“We cannot continue to allow an Adams Oshiomhole to taint a worthy legacy of anti-corruption, good governance and infrastructural development put in place by our beloved President Muhammdu Buhari.
“I hereby call on President Muhammadu Buhari, the National leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all other well-meaning leaders of APC to come out and condemn these acts of impunity.”
According to him, “The NEC is the only constitutional body that has the final say on the issues (at hand).
“This means that to ensure checks and balances and roll back the creeping improprieties and lawlessness, NEC should summon an emergency meeting and thrash out the issues once and for all.”
