The Lagos State House of Assembly has provided clarification regarding the deployment of Department of State Services (DSS) operatives at the Assembly complex on Monday, February 17, 2025.

The Acting Clerk, A. Ottun, addressed the controversy, stating, “The assembly called upon security agencies to ensure security, help maintain order and not seal off offices.”

The security presence followed a letter dated February 14, 2025, which highlighted credible intelligence about plans to forcibly reinstate the impeached Speaker.

The Assembly management identified this as a “potential security threat” to both the Assembly and its members.

The letter, marked LSHA/FAD/0/7554/323, was sent to the DSS Director in Lagos and other security heads in the state.
