A notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, has reportedly issued a chilling ultimatum to residents of Isa Local Government Area in Sokoto State, demanding they drain a dam in their community or face violent repercussions.
The threat was made public on Monday, June 23, in a post shared by security analyst, Bakatsine, via his official X handle.
According to the post, Turji claimed the dam was obstructing the movement of his armed group through the area and insisted it must be cleared.

“Bandit kingpin Bello Turji has vowed to force villagers in Isa LGA, Sokoto State to drain their dam, warning of brutal consequences for defiance. How is a terrorist bragging like a ruler?” Bakatsine wrote.
As of the time of this report, neither the Sokoto State government nor national security agencies have issued any official statement regarding the threat.
Turji, who has long been on the radar of Nigerian security forces, is known for his influence in the region and has been linked to several deadly attacks in the North-West.
His recent demand has sparked concern among locals, raising questions about the extent of his control and the continuing challenges in the fight against rural banditry.
