Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Visit Nigeria Monday

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Her Royal Highness Victoria Désirée, Crown Princess of Sweden, will visit Nigeria from Monday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

In a statement released on Sunday, April 6, and signed by the Acting Spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the ministry said the Crown Princess will be engaging in high-level meetings aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and Sweden.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce the upcoming official visit of Her Royal Highness Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, to Nigeria, scheduled for Monday, 7th to Wednesday, 9th April 2025,” the statement read.

On the first day of her visit, Princess Victoria will meet with Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and hold talks with Vice President Kashim Shettima. She is also expected to meet the Governor of Lagos State.

A major highlight of her trip will be the commissioning of the Swedish Trade Office in Lagos, a move described as a significant step in expanding bilateral trade ties.

Ebienfa noted that the royal visit reflects a growing partnership between both nations, particularly in trade, sustainable development, gender equality, and cultural exchange.

“This visit underscores the strong and cordial bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Sweden, as well as our shared commitment to fostering mutual cooperation in areas of trade, sustainable development, gender equality, and cultural exchange,” the statement added.

“Nigeria remains committed to deepening its relationship with Sweden, and we look forward to a fruitful engagement that will benefit both nations.”
