The coming of my husband, Douye Diri, as the Governor of Bayelsa State is a divine timing of God, his wife, Gloria, has said.

Mrs. Diri said this on Thursday during a Special Praise Service in honour of the governor at his 61st birthday at the King of Glory Chapel, Government House, Yenagoa.

The governor’s wife described Diri as a man blessed with great ability to do exploits even in the midst of his busy activities, stating that his strength was always renewed by God’s grace to achieve his targets.

She prayed for God’s wisdom, understanding and power to enable him to break new grounds in the state.

Mrs Diri stated, “His (my husband’s) coming was neither by his power nor by his might. This is a man that never takes medication. Every day and every night, he works hard. I want to say that his strength will continue to be renewed like that of the Eagle.”

Delivering the sermon, Bishop Ebi Belepeigha said God is still in the business of doing miracles in the lives of those who trust in Him, stressing that the assertion was evident in the success story of Diri.

Citing Daniel 11:1 in the Bible, Belepeigha explained that the miraculous emergence of Diri as governor of the state was proof that God was with him and the state as well.

The cleric prayed for greater grace and strength on the governor year after year and for him to lead the state with godly wisdom.

Highpoint of the service was the cutting of the 61st birthday cake by the governor’s wife and children alongside Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Abraham Ingobere, who was represented by the Leader, Monday Obolo-Bubou.
