…injure several others
No fewer than nine persons were killed in the early hours of Wednesday when some unidentified gunmen stormed Tudu village in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Scores of other persons were also said to have been injured by the unknown gunmen in the fresh attack, which occurred at about 5:00am.
The latest killing followed an attack on some communities in the same local government, where the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union alleged that no fewer than 30 decomposed bodies were found in the bush.
It was gathered that assailants invaded the village, shooting indiscriminately at the residents who were caught unawares and had to scamper to safety.
“Yes, there was an attack on Tudu village in Agwala Dutse at about 5:00am today (Wednesday) and several people were killed and several others too sustained injuries,” a source said.
Chairman of Kajuru Local Government, Mr. Cafra Caino, claimed nine persons were killed in the area by the gunmen, but the police in the state had yet to confirm the incident.
Caino also said that if not for the timely intervention of security operatives, more casualties would have been recorded in the attack.
The council chairman said, “We have once again been set back in our confidence building effort and peace engagements after Tudu village in Agwala Dutse general area were attacked this morning.
“It is confirmed that nine lives were lost in the attack. A detailed inventory of casualties is being taken.
