Balami Applauds Tinubu, Zulum’s Drive Despite Tough Times

Comrade Isaac Balami, a key All Progressives Congress leader and youth representative, called on Nigerians to remain patient with President Bola Tinubu, assuring that hope is on the way.

Balami praised the President’s progress over two years in office but reminded everyone that it’s not yet “uhuru.” He explained that years of poor leadership left deep challenges, and rebuilding the nation will take time.

He also commended Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum for his courage in confronting criminal elements trying to take over the state.

According to Balami, both Tinubu and Zulum share a vision they are committed to restoring a troubled nation and an ailing state.

In a statement he personally signed, the former Obi/Datti National Deputy Campaign Manager highlighted Tinubu’s resilience in overcoming tough challenges during his first two years. Balami expressed optimism that Nigerians will soon “heave the sigh of relief.”

On insecurity, he applauded Zulum’s efforts, saying any governor who joins the military to face enemies “is clearly selfless and understands the concept of modern leadership.”

Reflecting on Tinubu’s leadership, Balami noted the President’s clear intention and strategic plan before assuming office. He commended key reforms within the administration.

Addressing insecurity, Balami urged President Tinubu not to lose heart. He acknowledged a recent rise in violence linked to the upcoming election campaigns but reminded Nigerians of the President’s success in returning many Borno farmers to their lands within just one year.

Balami spoke on Tinubu’s inclusive approach, saying, “The youths constituency which I represent has enjoyed massive support from Mr President and has been duly represented. But like Oliver Twist, we will continue to ask for more representations.”

He also pointed to Tinubu’s agriculture policy, noting an 8 percent drop in inflation that led to lower prices for staples like tomatoes, maize, and rice.
Further praise went to Tinubu’s tax reforms, revival of mining, and granting autonomy to local governments.

Balami assured the President of ongoing support from energetic youths in the middle belt. He emphasized that this government “has adhered to the doctrine of inclusivity than any government,” and added, “middle beltans are found in this government more than any government in the past, hence 2027 is a payback year.”

While congratulating the President on milestones achieved, Balami urged him to continue driving economic recovery.

He drew a parallel to Governor Zulum, saying that “like BAT, Zulum has amid frustration by Boko Haram, ISWAP and others renewed the face of Borno state with developmental projects.”

Balami praised Zulum’s Disarmament, Demobilisation, Deradicalisation, Rehabilitation, Reconciliation, and Reintegration initiatives, which have helped stabilize the state and allowed farmers to return to their fields until recent localized attacks emerged.

He also acknowledged Zulum’s achievements in healthcare and encouraged him to persist until Borno shines as a model state.

Balami highlighted Zulum’s awards as one of the best governors, noting the challenge of balancing insecurity with economic growth.

He called on all Borno natives to support their governor in overcoming insecurity.

Finally, Balami urged President Tinubu and Governor Zulum to collaborate fully to “ensure that insurgents are degraded completely.”

He called on them to make sure all Nigerians benefit from their investments and explained that subsidy removal will be justified “for their sake and for the sake of the unborn generation” if more people-friendly policies are pursued.

He closed with a prayer: “We pray God to grant you the wisdom to do all that is needed to push through this phase to the brighter side of life where all Nigerians will celebrate your achievements and your legacy.”
