Amotekun Commander Vows to Defend Ondo Against Bandit Infiltration

The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, has boldly asserted that the corps is leaving no stone unturned in its mission to block any attempts by fleeing bandits to infiltrate the state.

This action, he explained, has become crucial in safeguarding the region amidst the rising threat of bandits invading the southwest.

Speaking to newsmen at the security agency’s headquarters in Akure, the state capital, Adeleye revealed that, in the past three months, his team has successfully apprehended over 300 suspected criminals across the state.

These arrests, which spanned all 18 local council areas, were primarily focused on border communities, where many suspects were linked to various criminal activities.

“We place significant trust in grassroots intelligence,” Adeleye remarked. “Over the past three months, we’ve arrested and paraded more than 300 suspects from roughly 15 locations within the state’s 18 local government areas. Some have been prosecuted, while others have had their cases resolved.

However, many of these suspects are still in correctional facilities throughout the state,” he added.
