Ali Baba recounted a particular incident where he was at a governor’s residence for a meeting and witnessed the wife of someone he knew walk out of the governor’s bedroom. The governor, he said, dismissed her back inside, indicating he wasn’t done with her. “I acted like I hadn’t seen her in years,” Ali Baba said. “She appreciated it. She later called to say ‘Ali, thanks.’ And I said, ‘It’s okay.’”

“I’ve been in the houses of big men, governors and others. I see wives of people I know coming to do things. And then those guys would do their philandering,” he said.
