Ali Baba Blows Whistle on Friends’ Wives Sleeping with Governors

Renowned Nigerian comedian, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, popularly known as Ali Baba, has made a shocking revelation about his encounters with the wives of his friends in the homes of Nigeria’s powerful political elite, including governors.

Speaking candidly on the latest episode of the ‘Outside the Box’ podcast, the veteran stand-up act delved into the hidden and often scandalous side of Nigeria’s high society. According to him, many of the women he has seen in compromising situations are married to his personal friends, yet they engage in discreet affairs with powerful figures.

Ali Baba recounted a particular incident where he was at a governor’s residence for a meeting and witnessed the wife of someone he knew walk out of the governor’s bedroom. The governor, he said, dismissed her back inside, indicating he wasn’t done with her. Despite the awkward encounter, the comedian revealed how he maintained composure when later introduced to the same woman by her unsuspecting husband at a public event.

“I acted like I hadn’t seen her in years,” Ali Baba said. “She appreciated it. She later called to say ‘Ali, thanks.’ And I said, ‘It’s okay.’”

The entertainer, often regarded as one of the fathers of modern Nigerian comedy, noted that such encounters were not rare.

“I’ve been in the houses of big men, governors and others. I see wives of people I know coming to do things. And then those guys would do their philandering,” he said.

Ripple Effect: Friends, Beware

Ali Baba’s bombshell is already stirring uneasy conversations across social and political circles, especially among his friends and colleagues. The implication is clear: not all marital unions in elite society are as loyal as they seem, and some women may be leading double lives behind their husbands’ backs — with powerful men as partners in secrecy.

The revelation could potentially strain personal relationships, expose hidden infidelities, and spark paranoia within social circles, especially among those who consider Ali Baba a close friend.

While the comedian didn’t name names, his account suggests a deeper moral decay in high society and raises questions about trust, loyalty, and power dynamics in elite Nigerian marriages.

The episode is being widely discussed online, with many viewers praising Ali Baba’s discretion and honesty, while others are left wondering which prominent couples may be implicated.
