The Super Falcons of Nigeria cruised to a 2-0 victory over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on Tuesday in an international friendly match played at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade was the star of the show, netting both goals in the first half to seal the win for the nine-time African champions.
Ajibade opened the scoring in the 24th minute, calmly finishing off a flowing team move to put Nigeria ahead. The former Atlético Madrid forward doubled the lead just before halftime in the 43rd minute, slotting home her second of the game and putting the Falcons in firm control.

Despite a few attempts from the Cameroonian side to get back into the game in the second half, Nigeria held their ground with a solid defensive performance to maintain their lead till the final whistle.
The match served as part of the Falcons’ preparations for upcoming international fixtures, and the result will boost morale as the team continues to build towards future competitions.
Nigeria and Cameroon have one of the fiercest rivalries in African women’s football, and Tuesday’s win extends the Falcons’ dominance in their head-to-head record.
