Abia First Lady Probes Assault on Casual Worker

Abia First Lady, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, has taken bold steps to ensure justice for Miss Gold James, a woman from Okwu Olokoro, Umuahia South LGA, who suffered brutal treatment at her workplace.

Determined to get to the root of the matter, she dispatched a team from the Ministry of Women Affairs, Umuahia, to investigate the disturbing allegations.

Miss Gold, a casual worker, was reportedly accused of stealing a hoe and pushed into a fire by her employer and others at the cottage industry. Despite denying the accusation, she sustained severe injuries.

At the palace of the traditional ruler of Okwu Autonomous Community, Eze B.I. Izuogu, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Maureen Ahukwa, revealed that Mrs. Otti was deeply troubled by the incident and would take steps to improve Gold’s life.
