Popular Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has confirmed that he personally posted the viral announcement about his separation and divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia.
In a video shared via his Instagram story on Sunday, the legendary singer addressed the controversy, saying, “Yeah, bless all my people. Nobody hacked my account, nah me yarn wetin I yarn.”
This statement followed confusion earlier in the day when his verified Instagram account announced the couple’s separation, sending social media into a frenzy.
The original post read, “Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long. I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now and have currently filed for divorce. I would grant a press release soon to say my story, not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offence. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all.”
However, shortly after, another post appeared, claiming the account had been hacked.
“My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control,” the second post read.
As fans continue to process the news, many are awaiting the promised press release from 2Baba to clarify the situation and shed light on the circumstances surrounding the separation.
