2027: ADC Only Party Capable of Salvaging Nigeria — Ogun Chairman

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared itself as the only viable political party capable of rescuing Nigeria from the numerous challenges plaguing the nation, including hunger, insecurity, inflation, and economic hardship.

Speaking in Abeokuta on Wednesday, the Ogun State Chairman of the party, Otunba Femi Soluade, revealed that the ADC is building a nationwide coalition of political parties, organisations, and individuals across the 36 states and the FCT, aimed at unseating both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general elections.

Soluade made this known shortly after a stakeholders’ meeting held at the ADC Secretariat in Itoko, Abeokuta. He described the coalition as a “Political Tsunami” designed to shake up the Nigerian political landscape and bring real change.

“The stakeholders’ meeting is part of a grassroots movement directed by our National Secretariat and is simultaneously taking place in all 36 states, including Abuja,” Soluade said.

“The aim is to position the ADC to assume leadership at the local, state, and federal levels come 2027.”

He stated that the party is committed to mobilising support at the grassroots and deepening coalition integration, while also welcoming defectors from other parties and patriotic Nigerians to join the rescue mission.

“Our objective is clear — to take over from the APC and PDP and save this country from imminent collapse. We are inviting civil society groups, labour unions, and concerned citizens to join our movement,” he added.

Soluade further said the meeting was convened in response to a resolution passed by the ADC National Executive Committee (NEC), endorsed by the National Working Committee (NWC), to expand its coalition strategy.

“The idea is to take the vision, mission, and rescue agenda of the ADC and its partners to the people, where it truly belongs,” he said.

Also speaking at the meeting, an ADC chieftain, Rasaq Eyiowuawi, commended the party’s leadership for the coalition initiative, noting that it will strengthen the ADC’s position as a credible alternative to what he called the “misrule” of the APC.

He urged all coalition members to treat the movement as a union of equals and to work in unity to achieve its objectives.

“Let every member take the message to the grassroots and adopt a ‘Jehovah’s Witness’ approach in spreading the word. Show the people that there is a better alternative. Let us unite and reposition this country,” Eyiowuawi said.
